Vectren Opens Health Clinic For Employees

12.03.2007

Evansville, Ind. -- Vectren Corporation today opened an on-site medical clinic as a pilot program to drive down long-term health care costs and ultimately slow the impact of the increasing health care costs faced by all employers. The initial location will be in the Support Services Center in Evansville which houses about 350 call center and information technology employees. In partnership with Novia CareClinics, this facility will serve those employees and their dependents with services including routine physician care and prescription drug services. “This is a tremendous benefit for our employees and one of the first on-site, employer-operated health clinics in the area,” said Vectren Chairman and CEO Niel C. Ellerbrook. “We believe this is a more convenient and economical way to deliver health care to our employees, and it will certainly reduce non-productive time due to simple doctor and child-related health needs.” The clinic is a continuation of the Energize Vectren wellness team focused on helping employees lead healthier lifestyles and make better, healthier decisions. Vectren has been holding health fairs, providing preventative services such as flu shots and providing information for all its employees. “We will study the success of this operation, and if appropriate, consider rolling out a similar model for other employees,” Ellerbrook said. “We know the health of our employees and their families is important. We will continue modeling wellness initiatives that help improve the health of our employees and thereby hold down costs associated with poor health care choices.” About Vectren Vectren Corporation (NYSE: VVC) is an energy holding company headquartered in Evansville, Ind.
