In-House Employee Clinic will save Fishers

$1.3 million in health care costs over next three years

 

Who:  Town of Fishers officials

What:  Ribbon cutting ceremony for in-house employee clinic that will save the town $1.3 million in health care costs over three years.  The clinic will be staffed by two physicians, two nurses, and will offer free visits and medications to employees and their dependents on the town’s health plan. 

The town will save money because all medications prescribed will be generic and dispensed on site.  The per visit cost to the town is significantly less at the clinic than at the employee’s private physician’s office.

Why:  As health care costs increased steadily each year, the town put together a task force comprised of town employees to come up with ideas to save tax dollars. The task force initiated the idea of the clinic.
